IBM’s Tiny World Map
Another entry in the microscopic-map sweepstakes: IBM researchers, demonstrating a new manufacturing technique, have created a tiny three-dimensional map of the earth. At 22×11 µm, it’s smaller than the 40-µm map of the world I blogged about in January, but still larger than the smallest map ever. It’s far more accurate, however, and is a bona fide relief map. An IBM video explains the process. Via Slashdot.
