Not a Google initiative or an April Fool’s gag, Google Mail Envelopes is a project by two industrial design students at Syracuse University, who posit a “send envelope” button in Gmail that prints a map showing directions from the sender’s address to the recipient that can be folded into an envelope for mailing.
