The Sheldon Tapestry Map of Gloucestershire is on display at Oxford’s Bodleian Library until February 23; the Library acquired the 16th-century tapestry at auction last year for more than £100,000. “The wool and silk tapestry … is part of a set of four maps commissioned by Ralph Sheldon for his home at Weston, Warwickshire. … Illustrating the Midlands counties of England, the series features Worcestershire, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire and Gloucestershire.
