Garmin has announced an API and a new web site for developers, the rationale for which is explained on their corporate blog: “Well, this site is for software developers and content provides who want to make their website, applications and data content compatible with Garmin devices. Essentially this site will make it easier for third-party sites to communicate with Garmin devices, which has been difficult in the past.
