A9 Adds Maps

A9, Amazon’s search engine, has for a while had street-level photos as a feature of its local search service (“Yellow Pages”), at least for a few U.S. cities. They’ve now added maps — from MapQuest, no less: you can view their street-level imagery by choosing a location from a map. While this is another example of a search engine adding maps to enhance its local searches, it’s certainly not in the same league as the other contenders: the interface, for example, is far clunkier, as you might expect from a MapQuest-derived product, and its scope — putting street photos on a map, essentially an exercise in geotagging — is much narrower.
